Editors and Editorial Boards are responsible for making final decisions on a manuscript. Academic Journals require all editors and editorial board members to adhere to COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Interference with the editorial freedom of editors construes misconduct. Editors and Editorial Board Members have total freedom in performing their duties. Any form of interference with the editorial freedom of Editors and Editorial Board Members either from the publisher or any other organization or persons is strictly forbidden.
To join an editorial board of a journal published by Academic Journals, a prospective board member should have completed a doctorial programme. The area of expertise of the prospective board member should fit with the aims and scope of the journal. The applicant should also have research experience and publications in his/her area of expertise.
Editorial board member should be prepared to create adequate time to evaluate assigned manuscript in a timely manner.
Editorial board is reviewed periodically. Members may be asked to submit updated version of their profile/resume.
Editors and Editorial Board do not receive any remuneration. These positions are purely voluntary.
Conflicts shall be resolved in accordance with COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and/or any other COPE guidelines. Cases of potential conflicts should be reported to the Ethics & Compliance Unit [email protected]
